This guy is talking from a purely sales perpective as a 3rd partry developer, even if he doesnt realise it, that is exactly what he is doing.  You can tell  by the last parapraph.

He is sort of correct. Kinect and FPS?...  I dont think so!   Move and FPS?...  No developer in their right minds would release a MOVE only FPS, there just will not be the install base to support it. (optional move support is another matter)

then i suppose we can make a thread titled:

Koweniki: Kinect FPS unlikely! Move always an option though!

if you like... but nobody will be interested... the install base simply isnt there

oh and who is this koweniki chap?

You know..that guy who is always delusional and unreasonable xD.

Careful fella... I was banned for calling someone deluded.   Then again... thats me not you, I think I have a few hundred eyes watching my every post.  Dammit now I am acting paranoid... did i mention I was also banned for calling someone paranoid?

reported for calling yourself paranoid!

...and yes, i'm watching every one of your posts, just like everyone else!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

It's indeed very unlikely that there will be a PS Move only FPS, but for another reason: There is just no good reason to limit a FPS to Move-only controls!

What's great about PS Move is that most controller-based games only need very small modifications to support a PS Move control scheme as well. So why limit the choice of control-schemes to PS Move and not let the gamers choose which one they prefer, if that is hardly any additional work?

The situation is completely different in the case of Kinect. There is just no easy, straight-forward way to adopt Kinect controls to a game that is usually played with a controller without making it suck. Games for Kinect therefor have to be developed from the ground up to support Kinect, making it very hard to develop a game where gamers have the choice between Kinect and traditional controls and both options work fine.

I imagine that if someone does create a good Kinect FPS, EA will be one of the first companies to rip them off.

It doesn't even have to be a traditional FPS.  It could be something as simple as an Iron Man game.  Iron Man fires his blasters by opening his hand in the movies.  Kinect could handle that, right?  Make him fly by raising his arms, etc.  This took me three seconds to come up with.  Easy if you have a little imagination, I imagine.

Well we both agree that there will probably be no FPS that only support Kinect or PS Move.

Thats what is so great about move. Its an option!

Also a Move FPS I can imagine.....ermmm killzone3...oh wait thats not imagination thats reality, coming out next month.

Very bad thread title

That actually sounds like a cool idea, the best idea for a Kinect game that I've heard of so far!

No FPS with Move? Ever heard of MAG, John? It works. Quite well actually.

Kinect is another matter, though.

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

is this guy retarted or what?? Move is able to play FPS game well if developers making for it, didn't he know sony already make a attachment for it? although it need a navigation controller as well, but it still works with Move and why is he saying can't imagine since it's already possible...

submitted as evidence that just because you can't get an interface to work doesn't mean the interface if fun which is what I think this guy is trying to say.  some games are just a perfect fit for kinect and would be really poor on a traditional controller and vice versa.

I would have thought an fps could be done on move but so far (RE5) i'm finding it too clunky.  maybe that just RE5 but if other games don't pull it off better i'm going to just stick with dual analog.

I think it could be possible with Kinect (move will have an easier version than this) where you hold the controller strafing yourself. It would probably get waaay too complicated though.
