Mass Effect 2  (PS3) will sell a million between now and the time that Mass Effect 3 releases.  It will sell this at full price.  I have spoken.

Actually, in the US Bioshock PS3 was full price iirc.  So were Oblivion, Eternal Sonata, Lost Planet, Ridge Racer 7 and most other late PS3 ports... to be honest, I can't remember a single "year later" 360 to PS3 port that launched at a budget price here?


In Europe many of those were. 

Well i'm a retailer in Belgium and i can say for sure that none of these late ports was launched at budget price in Belgium or in France...


Neither in Romania or any other east-europe country if I remember correctly.

 

Dont want it, you find the price absurd? Dont buy it. Its not like EA is forcing you to. They wont sell as many copies as the 360 version, so they need to recoup the price of the port. lets be honest, this "premium"price will probably lost only a couple of weeks untill retailers all around the world will drop the price

EA could have marketed ME2 for the PS3 as a "GoTY Edition" due to the inclusion of all DLC. The comic, while nice for those who actually missed the first game, does strike me as more of something that could have been a digital download, but with all the extra space on the BD, why not just throw it on the disk.

No reason for it to show up on Xbox or PC though since those players have presumably already played ME1.

The GoTY marketing strategy has worked in the past for many titles in drawing out more full priced sales on previously released games. RE5 Gold Edition, Fallout 3, Arkham Asylum, etc. off the top of my head. Of course, these dropped in price faster than the original releases, but publishers and retailers were still able to get more full priced sales on these titles.

Still, $60 for ME2, even with the additional content is a bit much considering the Xbox version currently runs for less than $20 and the PC version was going for as low as $10 less than one year after initial release.

If Uncharted/Killzone/GOW3 etc were released on 360 a year later, would it sell at full price and would people buy it in large numbers? I'm going with 'definately'.

unfortunately I don't think you will be right d21lewis, I think around 500k-700k will be more accurate at full price, depending on how much they sell first week

Lol they will make there money back from people who only have a ps3 and want it ^^ so why not :P also it will increase the awareness of the franchise to all ps3 owners which could increase me3 sales :P

I hope it will fail to sell.

That would teach them a lesson to not make time exclusives.

Time exclusives is the most stupid idea in gaming IMO.
