Zero marketing for KZ2??? I don't think we had a bigger marketing push for a PS3 game than that.. it was HUGE..

It had online hype. But it didnt get much real marketing.

you mean like this commercial that doesn't exist?

you seem to be pretty good at wiping out things that actually exist from history

sony always markets their first party games relentlessly,  uncharted, LBP, Resistance, MAG all received hefty campaigns, Killzone Liberation even received a big marketing push and they do heavy montage ads as well, plain and simple sony pumps incredible amounts of money into marketing, I don't see why some playstation fans insist on pretending sony doesn't advertise their major first party, I've seen sony fans insisting red steel 2 being more heavily advertised than uncharted, and that 's just nutty

You forgot one important factor that can really help its sales: The inclusion of CO-OP!

Co-op is only offline though, so not going to be a big draw at all.

Personally I think Killzone 3 will break 3mil so I reckon when all is said and done it will be about 1mil ahead of its predecessor.

Be interesting to see if Killzone 2's sales pick up at all in the same way that Uncharted 2 boosted Uncharted 1...

looks like you don't know how consoles work. Splitscreen is a huge factor in game sales- a lesson devs are relearning.

This is based on what evidence exactly?

Because they exist doesn't mean they were shown on TV alot... common sense -_-
And btw I've seen these ads... on Gamersyde because they uploaded them, but not on TV here in France. It had ads, that's quite normal, but not a huge one.

good points. I also think it will sell over a million more than killzone 2, but im a optimistic person :)

I don't think so It will most likely sell around the same as Killzone 2  or probably slightly less. People gotta remember Killzone 2 was pretty heavily bundled a few times with the PS3. Unless Sony bundles it I don't expect it to outsell Killzone 2 by 1 million maybe by 500,000 but not a whole million I guess it depends how they market it and if they bundle it which I'm sure they will.

Yeah those are some really good points actully, but there is a chance it wont be. personally i think it will be an excellent game and i hope it does at least 5 mill worldwide. but about the marketing point, here in the EU, Sony dont market as much as Microsoft or Nintendo here. and for some reason in their strongest region they havent used Kevin Butler, which is probabily there strongest marketing tool, this seems bizzare to me.

I c what u did thar ;)

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Relentlessly? No...not even close to Halo/COD advertising. It's no more than your common advertising.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Also Games like Halo, COD, Gears, L4D would NOT sell as well if they didn't have split screen

I think it can do atleast 3 Million lifetime. Call me crazy but I think Killzone 3 will have a lifetime in the range of 5 - 5.5 Million. The first week sales in the 1.5 - 1.6 range. Sony is going to market this game like they did with KZ2 ( It had lots of ads !!! )

Who's the best Pac, Nas, and Big. Just leave it to that.

I don't think it'll have an extremely large FW. That usually only happens to games that already have a strong fanbase.

Take Uncharted 2 for example. It had FW sales of about 800k and will end over 5 million. And then look at RDR, that game had FW sales of about 900k and will end at around 5 million I think.

Those games didn't have strong FW sales because people weren't expecting the game. Those games had some great 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. weeks due to Word of Mouth and great reception. I expect KZ3 to follow the same route. I don't think it'll have "great" FW sales, but it will have some good sales the weeks after.

Basically what I'm saying is I don't think KZ3 will have a massive opening FW.

I think KZ3 can reach 5m too!
