Forums - Nintendo - Best sleeper DS game of the year, 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors

I'll have to agree. Everyone I spoke to LOVES the game. The only two major problems for it: Not enough major reviews and It's gamerankings average was below 90, so the lack of reviews will throw people off. Other problem being It's $35 pretty much everywhere (I know It's worth it, but being a cheapass I try to get games cheap.)

It's just that simple.

my DS sleeper hit of the year is Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, unless it was released in Japan or the US in 2009 (Europe got it in January), then it probably doesn't count

Clash of Heroes is pretty good but I felt it ended too quickly.

OT: how long did it take you to complete the game?

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

999, or Clash of Heroes?  The former takes about eight hours for the first playthrough, about three/four for the second, and then about two/three thereafter (in subsequent playthroughs, you can skip any dialogue you went through the first time).  There are six endings, but one of them is an abbreviated version of a different ending, so in reality there are only five.

Well I have money, I also have games to trade in, and I've been interested... sooo I'll likely get this, no reason not to and if it requires a lot of use of the L button I can just keep it till I get my 3DS lol

No L button ever required!

I've heard about but Hotel Dusk and Last Window look better.

I'm just waiting Last Window to hit the bargain bin to get it.

Good stuff will probably pick this up and start on it once I beat Kingdom Hearts RE:Coded

I really like Hotel Dusk, but I like this one much better, to be honest.  Although you're in Europe, right?  I don't think the game is available there.

I've had it for some weeks but first Ghost Trick sidetracked me, and now exams have taken over, so I've been stuck at about an hour of gameplay. Will get back to it soon though.

And yeah, Europe is kind of a bad place for those games, luckily the DS is still region free for the most part.

Ah, Ghost Trick, a.k.a. My Next Purchase.  I assume it's pretty good?  And good luck on your exams!

Loved Ghost Trick (although I'd expected something different, having just bought it riding on my Ace Attorney love and not read a single thing about it). It also has like the best character animation ever or something.

Major spoilers are in this link, so don't click until you've beaten the game and gotten all the endings (Yes, ALL the endings).  But if you have, and you still have some questions...

Man, the way he's answering some of the questions has me thinking that they're already working on a sequel...
