Actually I see where you are coming from. Maybe I'm a little jaded in my response since I personally find the gaming selection of the PS3 most pleasing for me and the PS2 most pleasing from last gen. And part of the reason as CGI has point out is Sony's strong support.

Ok, if you meant Sony/1st party support, I agree with you. Nowdays Sony must rely on its exclusive software the same way Nintendo 64 had to deal with (although N64 was in a very critic situation). Resistance, Uncharted, Infamous... there are some new IPs coming from Sony this gen that can push some hardware units.
