well there are some 3rd party developers out there who is still trying to beat Uncharted 1, I think enslaved was one of em they compared both and Uncharted 1 still holds well.

I think your PS3 exclusives have set the bar higher. The real question is how much do 3rd party developers really care when it might or might not be worth the effort? Being multi-platform, it's potentially easier to make a profit on a game with a bigger userbase. But will making that same game better worth the effort in potential profits of attracting more potential buyers?

I agree, I think Uncharted 2(maybe Killzone 2) really made devs take notice.

games like LittleBigPlanet, Mod Nation Racers, and Heavy Rain really were genre defining(in my opinion of course)

I think Killzone 3 and Uncharted 3 will set the bar yet again

But i will add this if it were not for sony first party i think i would not have even purchased the ps3 at all. Sony truly has the best devs in the world and ND could get blood out of a stone when it comes to quality.

I mean forget about the PS3's power or that shit but

Ps1= crash bandicoot. Tell me a game that looked better at each one of those games launch?

Ps2= Jak. Now tell me a PS2 game which looked better than them at the time of relase?

Naughty Dog has also paved the way for in game engine cut scenes with uncharted.

Hopefully we will see an end to the inblance in graphics between CGI cut scenes and the game itself with more developers to follow Naughty Dog.
