that is flawed... and what does that have to do with today? Im sure it is still a norm in todays society. I think you misunderstood what I was trying say.

I haven't actually drank myself, there's a good chance I may try it sometime in the future, but as of now I have Zero interest as it simply doesn't appeal to me and I have far more important things to concentrate on.

Personally however I have nothing against drinking. People drink for a variety of reasons, many of which have been listed above, the most common is that Alcohol is a social lubricant. Quite frankly thats one of the main reasons I don't drink, is that I don't need Alcohol to be a social, crazy, loud outgoing S.O.B. Hell I've been accused of being wasted at a party when completely sober, because quite frankly, I'm the type of person who doesn't give two shits about what people think of me and I intend to have fun, and I actually used to be the shyest guy in the world. But in the end, if people want to drink, go ahead, its their choice, more power to them.

The only two personal problems I have is when many people in todays society, especially in America, drink for no other reason to get wasted, shit-faced. No matter how you look at it, its just plain irresponsible and wrong on a variety of levels for a variety of reasons. Especially when done in a setting where you make a total jackass of yourself and hurt others whether it be physically or emotionally in the process. There is no logical, and more importantly ethical real reason to bring yourself to this level of Alcohol consumption.

The second thing which quite frankly pisses me off is when Alcohol is solicited to Minors, and in some cases pushed onto minors by adults. I do personally believe that the legal drinking limit is slightly too high in the United States where I reside, but its still the law, and in place for a reason. Mainly because often trends have shown that the perception of Alcohol in the United States is far more immature in younger ages then that of other countries with a lower Legal Age. All in all, it shouldn't be done, and I've even bitched my own father out for offering me Alcohol in the past. In the end, I feel that soliciting, and promoting alcohol to minors is just plain wrong, it should be their choice to consume, and at a legal age. But regardless of how I feel, society won't change, its been this way for years, and the trend is only getting worse.

I drink to get a mild buzz while I'm at parties or just socialising. It loosens me up. I also have a really firm hold on alcohol though, I never drink enough to get drunk and the worst I can expect is getting tipsy. I've seen what alcohol can do to you when you go overboard and it does become a burden when I have to drive my paling friend (who kinda isn't my friend) to a hospital at four in the morning or have to drive one home, sneak him into his house, undress him and put him to bed, while he calls me Chris Brown the whole time.

A few jelly shots and a couple of vodka mudshakes can't do any harm and the reward could involve me being funnier or the women looking prettier, both are a bonus.

drinking and getting drunk are 2 different things, although you probably wouldn't know the difference being 16.

youll find out when you drink yourself. Back when i was 16 we were stupid to and would just drink until we passed out, but now i rarely do that. It's just nice to go to a party loosen up and meet some people or go to the bar with your friends and celebrate.

Seriously adults what is wrong with you all?!  Why do you all have the urge to grab or have a sip of some alcoholic drink? Unfortunatly, drinking alcoholic drinks have become a norm in todays society. To me it's the worst thing someone can do after murder and drugs. Do you all not realize the harm you are doing to your body? What's the point of drinking something that taste like **** or at least that's how the smell potrays it to be. Even so the point of knowing that it causes 'retardness' is retarded. I know some of you will say that you or people that do drink do it to forget about their problems and such. That is still a bogus way to justify such an idiotic action.

I know people that drink. My dad does though very often and never to the point where he is that drunk. But my relatives on the otherhand including bros-in-law do.

So why do you or why do you think people drink? What's your story? (rolls eyes)

EDIT: Some of you point out moderation and amounts. Even so does it taste good? The smell itself is intolerable and I can only imagine the taste. YUCK! I'll just drink some cold soda to chill.

You have a pretty messed up ideal if thats your true opinion. Maybe you should consider that while sitting on your high horse.

In a world today thats filled with things such as peadophiles, rapists, genocide, and a long long list that could go on forever. But people who choose to partake in a (legal) social self indulgence of having a few drinks are worse bar murders and drug users?

Open your eyes, see the real world and the real problems that exist in it. Many of which are far more of a concern to (normal) people that having a drink. Maybe when you see those things too, you might want a drink.

It makes people more fun at parties and more sociably acceptable. I just don't see why people would get drunk on their own though. *like some random drunk father*, i mean thats just stupid.

Sometimes it does but not in many cases I know of. My friends act like a-holes when they drink. One gets violent and picks fights with the others. Another one get really vocal he was in McDonalds yelling out loud to his ex Girl friend who worked there saying "You know you want my dick" He just kept yelling we had to grab him and pull him out. My other friend threw up all over himself in the bar and blacked out on the floor we had to carry him home and wash him up, the next day he was so happy he was bragging constantly about how great it was.

I myself used to drink. But when ever I got depressed abit or sad and drank alchohol I'd turn into a crying baby. When a girl broke my heart and I drank I cried all night apparently and then did so again two or three times (I used to drink every monday and Friday with my friends.

In the end I stopped for various reasons. A- I do not like the taste of most alchohol,I did like Ciders, Coolers and some girly drinks but I drank mainly for social reasons. B- Alchohol impaired my judgement C- Alchohol is 10$ for a case of six and I can get three cases of pop or like 4 big bottles of juice for the same price. D- I stopped getting drunk because the Bible states Drunkerds will not inherit the kingdom of heaven. Their were many more reasons inlcuding I had to replace two phones, once I broke my phone while I was drunk and the next I lost it while I was partying.

So their are many reasons I don't drink anymore. Now that being said once or twice a year I have a couple drinks just because its in a social setting and I can't really not drink anything. (Example wine at Christmas or champaign at NewYears). But drinking has way more bad side effects then good.

Now some argue drinking is good for the heart. "The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) states that a moderate amount of alcohol is considered to be 1 drink per day for women and 2 drinks per day for men. Consuming more than this amount is considered to be excessive drinking and increases your risk for many diseases and conditions. With that being said, how many ounces is considered to be "one drink"?"

Drinking more then a glass a day can cause cancer and many other deseases. Its like playing with fire you can play with it alittle and it will be very fun, but if your not super carefull you'll get burnt. I think that not drinking is probubly the best way to go about life.

If you wanna drink healthy drink a V8!
