Man I'm not suprised. Your taking a new IP that yes targets a very large and successful demographic against the biggest guy in gaming Mario himself. I'm just suprised Nintendogs held on to the top spot as long as they did. Honestly my sister is the only person I know to have bought the game while every friend I know owns Mario.

I wouldn't be suprised to see Mario Kart beat Nintendogs either. Though I hope Nintendogs Cats 3DS is a huge success. I may even invest in a copy as I love kitties....awwwwz!

When I first joined this site, I was thoroughly confused about why Nintendogs was ahead of NSMB initially but thinking about it, it made sense. Those who enjoyed 1 Nintendogs game would buy the other Nintendogs games...XD But I really think NSMB deserves to be the highest selling game..

Actually untrue: you can get all breeds in any version of the game. Owners of multiple versions are probably extremely rare, if they are statistically significant at all.

Just goes to show how big 2D Mario is, even the crappy one is the system's best seller. Now Nintendo need to unbundle Wii Sports so NSMB Wii can take it's rightful place.
