Someone who plans to make a product that uses that name ...

You can trade mark just about anything as long as the scope is limited enough, and trademarks are generally weak enough that all they prevent people from doing is making obvious copies of your product with very similar names.

Now, I wonder what Nintendo plans to do with this trademark being that I don't think that it is a particularly good "name" to use in English speaking countries. To me this means that it will be a subtitle to another product, a product only released in Japan, or a product that most English speakers aren't sure how to pronounce.

Man Nintendo trade mark Jesus Christ. You'll make a shit load more then a Japanese Shinto Godess. In reality they may plan on using the Godess in one of their games, not to mention they get free press by trademarking her, if were talking about it theirs no doubt that Japanese gamers are talking about it.

Console project name. Remembers mandate with the Revolution. "either we sink to the depths of the pit or ascend to the heavens.".... or something like that.  Nintendo won't ever release anything with the name Ametersu. Though the icon of such is appropriate to what Nintendo will be trying to next generation. This gen was getting to the heavens. Now it's being a god.



Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

This could be interesting if it is the codename for their next console.  Place your bets everyone when Nintendo will show that bad boy and any wild ideas on it's specs.  If it's not at least 2x more power of my X360s I ain't buying!!!  I am expecting at least a Quad-core running 3ghz each with at least 2 GB of  total RAM in addition to a new revised motion plus scheme.  Anything less than that I am keeping the Wii and getting my HD fix on my X360s (two of the best looking consoles these last two generations).
