It never was. but a bit of rant for one second:

If rumors are true, this phone will be just as powerful as phone release a year ago. Seriously, what is going on with Sony, they seemed to behind everyone in terms of technology. And i bet you they are going to ask tons of this ugly mess when Apple will be announcing new Iphone for $199.

They need to make a choice here, take adavantage of the huge Andriod userbase and release this software on all android phones or focus on the PSP2.

Xperia phones did well on Q3 and shipped 2 millions devices compared to 1.9 by HTC. I found these numbers not bad at all considering they shipped with Android 1.6...

but yeah, this ugly mess (lol) is kinda weak and I think they are aiming for low prices at release... maby.

Impossible.. android is fragmented like a smashed piece of pie.. Google should have demanded minumspecs.. with all the different hardware models and custom software layer over android it's impossible to release this software on all android phones.. Sony would make custom versions for a lot of android device out there.. like gameloft does for it games..

That's fair. I am really scared Sony is going to destroy any chance the PSP2 has of success.

As far as I know SONY has been plagued with internal cultural problems. Lots of smart engineers, but they don't work well together, and SONY lacks that vison to guide their designers. Imo the PSP GO is amazing when you use it (I own it and it was the best for me), but noone wants it.

IMO they need to do a lot more consumer research. I bet there are too many egos that aren't willing to collaborate.

Exactly like I thought. It's "just" a phone with PSP capabilities.

I disagree, the phone market is a very unique market in which the majority of phone purchasers upgrade every year or two. So no minimum spec is needed and an OS can evolve.

Still, your forgetting that the PC market is basically the same. Windows 8 should be released in the next year or so. Releases arent are fast as new phone OSs, but they add new features that cant work on older hardware. So some Windows Vista PCs, that can handled Windows 7, will not handled Windows 8.
