Yup........ i agree eNamrah, i can completely understand why games like Fifa, Tiger Woods, NBA 2K & NBA Live are not plats.

But thus far all Virtua Tennis & Top Spin games still have active online play. (So 1000 is still obtainable)

@ Neo.......... indeed buddy, i have ploughed many hours in to the Tiger Woods games, and for the most part they take many MANY hours to get a decent score on them, but again, due to the servers closing sooner and sooner each year for these yearly franchises, i would not even possibly expect them to be plat games. (Tournaments in the unlikelyhood of enough owners yes, plats no.)

Neo, I wouldn't have a problem with sports games being platinums as long as: 1, the full 1000 gamescore is available for the entire league year; and 2, they are removed from the platinums list when their online servers are shut down and/or certain achievements are disabled.

Things are fine for this year.  Pretty soon I should be able to do more to identify this stuff and deal with it properly...  Until then, the way things are is fine.

I just noticed that I had wrongly identified Top Spin and Virtua Tennis as not being allowed to be platinum.  So, all is fixed.

Carl2291, can you please change the gif in your profile sig so I stop feeling the need to wank it everytime I see her beautiful bouncing breasts??

Alright, look, this RPG's are all the same and come out yearly talk is stupid and should be stopped now. If you're gonna do that then you might as well stop (yearly) Call of Duty games, that all play the same with different stages from being considered from platinums.

Also, Ronster, when are you a judge of "how RPGs play" when you don't play any of them ever....?

You know, Fable and Mass Effect aside, most RPG's have gaps of 3-5 years between them. Seriously, and last time I checked Tales of Vesperia and Fallout 3 are completely different games. In fact I would wager that, at this point in gaming, RPGs have more variety than any other genre. Okay, you earn XP points, how does that make them all the same??

I mean, I love you man, Ronster, you KNOW I do. But there is a reason why these "cookie cutter" same as last year-with one new feature, sports games are excluded.

For the record I don't think ANY games, including Avatar should be taken out of the league, but if we are pointing fingers then, yes, sports games are mostly the same from year to year. So stop saying RPGs are all the same when you don't even plan ONE RPG to begin with. RPG's are no more "all the same" than action movies all have explosions....

...Okay I think I just argued against my own point.

My ultimate point: I will and have never gotten tired of RPG's because no matter how similar they are they are all different. I'm tired of shooters, tired of sports games, tired of racing games, tired of every single type of game except RPGs, and I know at least a half a dozen league members who feel the same. So let's stop this stupid RPG's shouldn't be counted talk, okay?

Fair points JPL...............

But basically for every new Virtua Tennis or Top Spin theres a new Mass Effect or Fable right?

I did generalise all RPG's in a previous post........ and thats wrong of me.

But the bottom line________________ is that VT & TS have every bit as much right to be plats as ME & Fable do.

Check the estimated time it takes on 360achievements to get 1000 on Top Spin 4........ it apparently takes a minimum of 45 hours.......... and thats if you are good at it.

And trust me....... every Top Spin game i have played this gen has played differently to the previous one.

Thanks for stepping to the plate JPL but I think the biggest issue is in cases like this. I buy the most recent dlc for Fallout:Vegas and not only steal the plat from Vehement Abyss and others but get another full 7 lg pts for it. I don't have a suggestion for how to avoid taking plats from people who don't immediately buy all the dlc but I do feel kinda bad about it. If it were once or twice then fine but some of them are getting 8-10 dlc with achs. I think that's Neo's objection anyway. You work pretty hard to max out a decent rpg and I don't think anyone's saying they don't belong just that you shouldn't get 63 plat pts for buying and completing every add-on. I love Ronster as much as Kate Middleton-Windsor though I suspect he's a bit harder on the eyes.

Hey............... gimme a break JPL man, i have played RPG's....... i got a big fat juicy (ok paltry) 400G's on Fable 2.

And beleive it or not i actually played Mass Effect 1 on my other profile for a whole 45 minutes lol

I can't quote people again on here.............. no wonder i get fed up and dont visit as much as before.........

@ Recon.......... first and foremost...... i love you too man, every bit as much as Kates fit sister Pippa lol...... (now thats one sandwich that i would literally drool over repeatedly)

Perhaps the only way to stop people farming DLC is to simply exclude DLC from the league (ie you get 1000 and get 7 points and then thats it, only those who get the non DLC thousand aswell and equal your score get plats)

Last thing about Sports vs RPG's............ Apart from the yearly franchises that are milked hardly any every other year sports games have DLC for them (not one single Virtua Tennis or Top Spin has had DLC with extra G's on offer)

That said some of the RPG's have not only 1 DLC pack with G's but somtimes 2, 3 or even 4 DLC packs with G's

JPL's call of all games can be plats (and tourneys too if enough owners have it in that first month) seems like the only way to realistically stop the DLC farming.

And this is where the BEAUTY of True Achievements comes in to play again....................

They list the retail 1000G's and the DLC pack G's in to different sections right, so therefore its still easy to distinguish who's got what without the extra workload of having to figure out which chevos are retail and which are not.
