Forums - Microsoft - Microsoft Gamerscore League

I'm not leaving the league. I just think I'm done racing through a new game to simply win a tournament. I'm going to start focusing on my backlog of retail and xbla games. I also purchased a PS3 in June and rarely play it. The past few months I've started purchasing exclusive games for the system and plan on playing them in the near future. I finally got around to Uncharted 1 this week. Really good game.

Maybe points from races need to be refined then, I see where you're all coming from. Not fun rushing through a game to get 1st in a torny.

Perhaps league points based on how much gamerscore you get, for the top 6 people. I dunno just shooting off ideas, something that doesn't require to 'race' as it were

@Seece's posts...

I intend on improving mysite. It is all about time available. The site will become more fleshed out as the year progresses. Between my family, travel, regular day job, part time company, my own gaming, and the league my schedule is stuffed. The league separate site is my bottom priority.

The next league post will be sometime on the 31st. This will not give anyone any points but set the starting mark for the new year.

Tournies... I think they are still an important part of the league. The rule changes make game completion even more important than tournies. If a gamer focuses solely on completing retail games that are platinums throughout the year and averages 2 per month they are guaranteed 336 league points (240 for plats and 96 for GS) for the year without any TA or tournament points. I know that is a tall order, but the top gamers in the league are more than capable of doing that.

Also, if you look at the totals for this past season, gamers focusing on game completion did the best this past year. This will be more prevalent this year. Last season the top earner in league gamerscore points earned (Berstuck) 171 league points, the top tourny earner (eNamrah) ended up with 160 league points, the top TA league point earner was 121 league points (aka CRIM3), and the top platinum earner got 343 league points (RONSTER316).

There will be one other way to earn league points this season. But, I have to make sure it is working right before I announce and add it to the league.

I hope to give the top people a run next year. Coming in late put me a little behind.

Also I like the platform leaderboard, I always forget to look at that page.

Sounds exciting, keep up the good work!

I guess I'll have to up my game in plats then

I was just wondering the same thing...

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

@eNamrah and Godbless...

No. This is simply going to be an update to set the starting scores for the new season and assign starting platinums.

No league points will be awarded.

Darn. So it starts this coming Thursday? Maybe I should hold off on completing Majin.

@eNamrah.

Yes, the first points are awarded this coming Thursday. You should hold off game completions for this coming week.

The reason for this (as in past years) is because I removed a few gamers from the league at the end of the season (xDigital Sorrowx, xKogr, charlesjunior, ULTRAFINE, and MASTERZACK) and this changes the number of gamers that have games and therefore platinums available. It also will change a bunch of platinums as a few of those had a few platinums worth noting.

Also, the league is from January 1 - December 20th this coming year, so scores should be reflected within that timeframe.
