Forums - Sony - What about

in HD?

We all know Level-5 is working on Ni no Kuni and WKC translations for West release. Then after that they're gonna work on Dark Cloud 3 (I'm sure I read somwhere that they're developping it or thinking of making a new one back in 2008), so they're gonna be quite busy in the upcoming months.

So what would be nice from them is to re-release RG with a little better graphics and trophies support. The good thing is that they can give that task to another studio (internal Sony studio or Sony related), they don't have to it themselve they would just check the finished product, so I guess it's possible. I mean this game has to be at least re-released if it can't get a proper sequel. It was awesome and still is!

Would anyone be happy with a re-release or even better, a sequel? Or, has someone even played this game and remember it? x)

You'd probably get more of a reaction if you actually listed some info as to what this thread was going to be about in the thread title.  People are sort of programmed to avoid threads with vague titles.

I know but Rogue Galaxy was supposed to be in the title but not the "in HD" I was looking for what to write, then I added the picture and clicked on ok..

I like Rogue Galaxy, but honestly remaking games in HD is not very important to me, I'd rather Level-5 focus on making new games and not fall into the trap of re-releasing the same game over and over.

That's why I said that with the re-release process they don't have to do it themselves if they can't, another studio can do it for them if Sony accepts. But I'm wondering about that because I don't see any sequel to this game anytime soon, so it may be good to make people remember or discover Rogue Galaxy before a possible sequel (enventhough I would rather see a Dark Cloud sequel planned than a Rogue Galaxy one, but I want something from this game x) )

I would much rather prefer Dark Cloud 3. Imo, Dark Cloud 2 was just an incredible experience for me.

Don't get me wrong, Rogue Galaxy is a fine RPG, but out of all Level-5's PS2 games it's the one I could do without. I really dig the combat system and the fine level design but I really don't need a continuation here, I think some games are better as one offs.

I would rather have DC3 or another Jeanne D'Arc game, which I consider to be their best work yet.

As for Rogue Galaxy, I didn't enjoy that much. The gameplay was good (even though it had some weird difficulty spikes), but the story & characters were incredibly weak.

The story was just random events slapped together: monsters overrun the main character's hometown (don't remember the mc's name which shows you how forgettable he is), main character beats beasts and travels with space pirates; then the ship crashes in some jungle planet, and they must find fuel. They try to save a little girl and do some other stuff in that planet. Then they reach their destination where they can renew their license, but they get arrested. They escape, but some hacker is keeping them from renewing their license. They agree to capture the hacker, so they can finally get their license renewed. That's like the first 10-15 hours, and it doesn't even get remotely interesting after that, imo. So yeah, I'm not interested in a re-release or a sequel.

Playing it atm.  Thank goodness for BC PS3's.  I'm really digging the battle system and the ability system. The story hasn't really picked up yet and I'm not expecting much if they're other L5 games I've played are any indication.
