Gamasutra released its sailing around the world article. The article based on info from Amazon and other retailers show which games are selling best around the world. As many know Kinect made the number one spot in North America but Nintendo  titles were everywhere. Nintendo dominated North America but also had a great presence in all three regions.

Multiplatform
North America: 1. Kinect Sensor with Kinect Adventures (Microsoft, X360), 2. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft, Wii), 3. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Nintendo, Wii), 4. Epic Mickey (Disney, Wii), 5. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, X360).

Japan: 1. Monster Hunter Portable 3rd (Capcom, PSP), 2. Wii Party (Nintendo, Wii), 3. Donkey Kong Returns (Nintendo, Wii), 4. Gundam Musou 3 (Koei, PS3), 5. Ninokuni: Shikkoku no Madoushi (Level 5, DS).

UK: 1. Just Dance 2 (Ubisoft, Wii), 2. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, X360), 3. Mario Kart Wii (Nintendo, Wii), 4. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Nintendo, Wii), 5. Call of Duty: Black Ops (Activision, PS3).

In all three regions Nintendo console titles accounted for 3 of the five titles. Nintendo has proven that its software can hold its own against the Move and other then North America, Kinect is also being held at bay.

Are you impressed by Nintendo's performance? Also the fact that Epic Mickey and JustDance2 both made the list shows that third parties are still finding success on Wii as well. Do you think this will encourage more third party support?

Either this article is misleading or I've just had a blonde moment.

As far as I'm aware, multiplatform = a game on multiple platforms in which no game on that does for the wii.

Blonde moment, out of all the titles availible on all three platforms Nintendo titles dominated taking 3 of the top five in all three regions NA, U.K and Japan. Whats suprising is two of the titles aren't even Nintendo developed showing third party titles can still sell a shit load.

So you mean it dominates multi-regional sales, not multiplatform? Or the title needs to be "Nintendo multiplatform dominate sales". I know what you mean now and it is rather surprising, well just dance not so much.

Could you link to the article? I'm really wondering in which timespan they have Epic Mickey outselling Call of Duty: Black Ops in in Americas.

And this really isn't the surprising. By VGChartz numbers, this is the likely list for the whole of 2010 at its end.
