it really is
Isn't there a Japanese arcade version of the game mode where you have limited continues?

Tales of Vesperia wasn't really that hard, you have to go out of your way to make it harder by doing the side quest to make the last boss impossible.
I will say games like DKC and NSMB are nice, because people do complain about how hard those games are.

It welcomed me to mediocrity :(. The solution is simple: just let the host choose the number of continues or have it like TMNT. When you used up all your lives, you can't respawn until your teammates beat the level.

Both the Japanese and American mode have unlimited continues. The Japanese mode is easier since it has energy pills and mutant power pick-ups.
eh my Wendy's value meals are going near $10 - and for the price XMen arcade was worth it. The unlimited continues is just geared towards the newer generation of gamers who like their games easy - or so it seems with a lot of newer games.
It's just that simple.
Don't play online then, or only Play with Friends, my brother and I are down to limiting ourselves to 2 credits each now since we cleared it with 4 credits each, the game is actually very fair (by konami arcade beat em up standards) save for magneto, but there are ways to deal with him, self control can fix any infinite continue problem (bioshock is still cake even with vitachambers off while playing on survivor), if you play super mario bros, you can warp straight to level 4 then 8 but that doesn't mean you have to, you don't have to do the konami code in Contra,
I will grant you that most people idiotically spam mutant powers, but I've been waiting 17 years for this to hit home consoles, I'm not going to let infinite continues ruin it for me.
I HAVE A DOUBLE DRAGON CAB IN MY KITCHEN!!!!!!
NOW A PUNISHER CAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
