Ive come to the conclusion that we are going to have to agree to disagree, I will ammend my previous post by saying that I view Kinect as a platform within a platform, much like steam is to the pc just much more watered down as the kinect simply has games made for it, but you get what I mean.  Im done with this though, almost pointless apparently.

Steam is a content delivery platform.  But it delivers practically the same content as the retail content whihc in turn is utilized on the same device platform...the PC itself.

Steam is not an add-on like Kinect.  A PC add-on would be...well, Kinect on PC.

But heres the catch, without a pc, could you use steam?  Thats the point I was making, a platform within a platform.

Without an X360, could you use Kinect?

Without a Wii, could you use a Wii Balance Board?
Without a PS3, could you use Move?
Without a PS2, could you use Eye Toy?
Without a Sega Genesis, could you use Sega CD?
Without an N64, could you use a Nintendo 64 DD?

Additionally, you couldn't use any of those listed without a TV.

So really... PC has a 1-up on the consoles in that regard.

I fully admit the Kinect is a massive success right now. But it's too small a sample size. We are in the holiday season, during its launch, which makes it easier to sell a product. The key will be the longevity, which I believe will not really last beyond this holiday season. Even the 32x was sold out during its first holiday season.

If you look at the games, they are already not really selling. So eventually, one of two things will happen. Either Kinect will start to get some killer aps (there are certainly none announced yet) and will keep selling hardware, or third parties will keep making games like the ones now, and Kinect sales will fall off a cliff as a result.

kinect is a success : yes

will the xbox360 fanboys defending it play with it more then a few hours: no

thread goes on

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

Biased dude calling biased dudes/dudes fanboys! x) Sounds funny, you should be banned for that :)

And By the way I'm laughing out loud at your prediction in your banner, every single one is unrealistic. Well done!
