What I'm about to say is going to ignite some flames, but what I'm about to say is of no ill intent. I've always though that the Xbox 360 was more of a casual console even before the Kinect was released. And Microsoft themselves said that Kinect was targeted towards the casual gamer. Now, Kinect has been a sales success without a doubt. It's pushing some console sales, but I'm sure most of us will agree that it's not pushing as much for a new product during the Holiday shopping season. So Kinect is appealing to... mainly current Xbox 360 owners.

Wii was $50 last week. 360 is $75 this week and PS3 is $100 next week.
Also last week TRU gave a $20 card with Wii purchase.
This week Kmart ($50 Gift Card), Best Buy ($20 Gift Card) and Target ($23 off) have deals for Wii. So this week for Wii huge as well.
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

They are giving $75 gift cards for Wii, $100 gift cards for PS3 starting tomrrow 12/17.
Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Can't wait for some serious adjustments this month.
There is more than enough 360 stock to meet demand in store. It may not be 250gb bundles everywhere but plenty of other stock to be had. Online may be out, but that is just pushing more in store.
No bloody way the Wii was anywhere close and 10-1 360 outsold it last week. That's ok though that is why we have NPD. |
