Forums - Sales - America's up!

Numbers seem legit to me.

Wii had it's promotion from 5th - 11th so naturally got a boost.

The 360 shortages seem to have been reported before this weekend, but even so, they will have replenished stock this week

360's giftcard is this week 12th - 19th. So providing stock is replenished (which I think perhaps MS were holding back for the wal mart deal) then sales should raise significantly.

PS3 gets its $100 the week after, starting 20th - 27th, so sales could stall in next weeks numbers, but if they have no stock problems I imagin it'll just get a small boost then a bigger boost week after.

BTW Wasn't Kinect suppose to hit 4.05 mill this week? it's at 3.97 after Japan, guess that was simply overestimated 80k at the time.

Well I rarely complain about the numbers but I'm lost on this one...  I expect a sizeable difference when NPD comes along.

i will make a bet with anyone of 100$ Paypal that VGC has 360 undertracked this week by at LEAST 200K and November VGC showed 1.070.000 Xboxs and NPD showd 1.37M so this month will be likely Xbox 360 1.8M on VGa and >2.5M on NPD.

Is the 360 really THAT supply constrained?  This seems very odd.

Maybe lots people are waiting for the $75 gift card deal.

dont buy that either.

It's called a "good deal."  So why not?

isn't the ps3 getting something similar? why didnt that stall?

What are you talking about?

its quite simple...  both had decent offers coming and you say maybe one goes down on the strength of that... why didnt the other go down?

The other as in the Wii?

EDIT:  I think ioi answered your question for me if that's what you meant.

2nd edit: I think Seece has some answers as well if it helps.

Why buy a 360 last week when you can get one this week for $75 less?

For all those moaning about 360 sales - wait unti the numbers go up for this week.

Mostly of people dont even know about that... 4 US friends of mine bought a 360 this week for 299$ with forza or Alan Wake i cant remind the game were one of those... not sure... they didnt even know about 75 gift and i bet 99% of people dont know about that.

Well was it supply or the deal?

And if its the deal then why isnt it the same argument for the PS3?

People arent moaning they are trying to understand... actually ok, some people are moaning

Its the supply and deal, and it hasn't affect PS3 because it gets its $100 the week after not this week, from what I know.

The same could happen this week as people await the $100 PS3 deal next week.

Thanks for lending a little bit of reason.

The problem is that even if 360 is > 2.5 mil for NPD and <1.8 mil for VGC, you can not prove this week's difference is 200K since NPD does not provide weekly breakdown.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

exactly.

Wii seems to be up compared to last year by quite a bit. 739,755 last year . DS is down from 715,796

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
