And who's trying to make something look better than it is?  I'm just bringing data that covers 70% of the market directly (more than any other game sales tracking service in any other region in fact), and Famitsu is data I always bring into JP sales threads.  This is a Medica Create thread, if you only acknowledge VGC data, then uh... why are you in here again?

And trying to shit all over Sony?  I thought I was trying to make something look better than it is?  So tell me console warrior, which is it?

You're trying to make something look better than it currently is. DKCR isn't the best opening for the series in 3 Generations. VGC Data shows us that. You're so keen to take Famitsu as fact. I can take VGC as fact. Did I say I only acknowledged VGC data? No. No I didn't. I said I can use it if I want to. I'm on VGC. I can choose to use VGC data for any game I please on VGC.

It's both. DKCR isn't the best opening for the series in 3 Generations. It's the worst. Same with GT5. Stop trying to make everything Sony look bad in the face of whatever competition it's facing. As I said. It's annoying and you do it a whole lot lately. DKCR and GT5 are very comparable so far in sales. Both have opened lower than previous iterations. Are you even looking at the data?  Legs are what every DK platformer has had on home consoles.  Franchise comparisons for lifetime sales...

  • DKC3: 11% fw
  • DK64: 19% fw
  • DKJB: 21% fw
  • GT: 30% fw
  • GT2: 51% fw
  • GT3: 33% fw
  • GT4: 62% fw
...the series average for DK is 15%, for GT it's 44%.  If DKCR sells the series average it'll sell over a million units lifetime.  If GT5 does it's series average, it'll sell under a million.

Handheld versions of games aren't included for the reason being the handheld market is completely different to the console market. Especially in Japan.

Why do I have "such a problem accepting" something that's not actually supported by the most accurate data available?  The better question might be why are you so hell bent on making a claim to that effect?  VGC data doesn't even support that notion thanks to Jungle Beat, a game you admitted to never owning yet tried to discount out of hand because of how it played (or how you think it's played... have you ever played it btw?)... and yet, somehow I'm the the one trying to distort things from "what it is".  L.O.L.

At best, you can say differing data shows DKCR as the best and not the best (but NOT the worst) series debut in 3 generations.  So tell me again, how is that at all remotely "the same with GT5"?

And please, leave the personal mudslinging aside and try to stay on topic.  I'm here to actually talk about game sales, thanks. <3

Well... that's true.  DKCR is also outselling every handheld DK platformer ever, so that's at least actually something they do share in common.

Have you looked at Prologue's data? If it can do that much in Japan, which had a far lower opening than GT5, why is it crazy to assume that GT5 will cross 1 million at some point? As I've said, you are obviously leaving out the possibility of bundles, which would easily push it north of 1 million.

GT5 is already bundled.  It hasn't seemed to help.
