Keiji Inafune Starting A New Company Named "Comcept?"

By Spencer . December 14, 2010 . 11:25am

A securities analyst apparently had a run in with ex-Capcom developer Keiji Inafune. His meeting Inafune, the first in two years, at Akasaka-mitsuke (note: that’s in Tokyo while Capcom’s headquarters, presumably the area that Inafune lives in is Osaka) where Inafune the two apparently exchanged business cards.

Inafune handed him a new card that with Comcept on it, a new company Inafune is starting post-Capcom.

Honored to receive a new card, the analyst rushed to tweet about it. The analyst doesn’t tweet much so this meeting was probably really significant to him.

Well I certainly hope that Comcept can bring me games that make me as loyal as I was to Capcom in it's heyday.

Comcept...

A play on words with Computers and Concept?

Never change, Inafune.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Didn't he hated the industry? or he just hated Capcom?

Now, watch as he gets picked up by a Western company.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

I think he hated the way the industry goes about making games.

I think he was just burnt out at Capcom.  Probably near a mental breakdown, which led to his crazy ramblings.

I think many of his issues may have been specific to Capcom as well.  Having the ability to build his own team should give him far more freedom than he had before, and a complete change in attitude, as any missteps would fall solely on him.  Can't blame the "Japanese industry" for screwing things up when you run your own ship!

I hope the best for him and his new company, Thank you for Megaman (my favorite VG character).
