Fixed. There no official Wii here in 2006/2007 because the console released in Oct. 2007.

Well the gray market is interesting...presumably we track systems going to Brazil from the USA as US HW. But presumably some of these Wiis then get associated with SW sold in Brazil AND the USA. In which case the SW base in Mexico or Brazil for systems is really (Local imported) * game purchasing rate of local users.
But yes, please check on gray market vs. black market vs. local market for the Nintendo Channel. Thats the main issue with using the Nintendo Channel right now.

Well that is a very deep analysis of the situation, and i think that is an acomplishment in itself, because now you know how hard it is to track sales over here.
This is a step in the right direction, and who would have thought that the nintendno channel could prove so useful in this kind of research.
There is still the problem of the systems that are purchased on the USA and then re-sold here, that is a very common deal , and a lot of people do that for a living, go to the US , buy a lot of software, accessories and consoles and then come here and sell them at a lower price than in the official retailers ( not by that much but still a few pesos cheaper).
This is good progress and hopefully the Latin American data keeps getting more accurate as this goes on, whatever you need Source and think we could help, don´t hesitate to ask.

That document says that in Jan-Mar 2009 (page 26) non-pirated / non-imported Mexican retail is split up as follows:
Game Planet - 27%
Liver Pool - 26%
Sam's Club - 10%
Blockbuster - 7%
Walmart - 5%
Others - 25%
Page 8: "Global Publishers Generate 2-6% of USA sales in Mexico (in 2007 / Q1 2008)", and top titles sell "tens of thousands of units" - not imported or pirated. Mexico is apparently 70% of Latin America...as of 2007 / 2008.
Gray market / pirated market is 85% of all sales nonetheless.
Latin America was 2% of world market in 2006, expected to reach 4% in 2011.
This report was actually cited in BKK2's Latin America thread a while ago, but I'd forgotten about it.

Just to share with you, i bought an xbox slim a few days ago, everywhere i went was sold out, (250 gb , without kinnect) but was able to find one, same case for the wii and ps3, everytime i went to a store, there were at least 2 or 3 people buying one. This will be an amazing year for gaming here in Mexico.
