Missed opportunity since gears of war fans usually fit the description of those who would watch VGAs. More than E3.

As of right now  the Mass Effect 3 and Uncharted 3 trailers have the most hype and will end up being the most talked about and if you are Microsoft you want Gears to have the spotlight and not share it.

Sucks but why would it have been overshadowed? It's a bigger IP then both of those and ones on another console entirely.

There is only so much hype generating around those two games because they have yet to be officialy announced. If this was Gears of War 3's announcement there would be a huge amount of hype for it also.
