Forums - Sony - I have yet to satisfy my JRPG crave, help!

Well Final Fantasy XIII didn't come close to satisfying my JRPG crave so I'm off to search for another one . I'm thinking White Knight Chronicles so I'd like some opinions from people that played both FFXIII and WKC for which is better and some comparisons.

I'm also thinking Demon's Souls but isn't it more of a WRPG, seems to look a lot like Oblivion, and I'd much rather have a JRPG then WRPG. I need some help.

(Just a heads up Final Fantasy XIII was my first JRPG of this gen, I was saving my 7th gen JRPG virginity for it, I was not pleased)

well, as bad as FFXIII was, WKC is much worse.  Especially along the the storyline front (the bread and butter of any good RPG).  WKC did have a somewhat interesting online component, but there is so much grinding involved that it would kill off your interest long before you could really do much with it.

I don't know if you are a multi system owner, but honestly, imo there hasn't been a JRPG this gen that can beat Lost Odyssey.  Still the best out there.   Demon souls was fun, but like you said, it plays like a WRPG (which isn't bad, but not what you are looking for).

Play Valkyria Chronicles. All around awesome. Technically it's SRPG though. I would also say that if you can grap Star Ocean IV Last Hope International cheap it could be worth of your time. Battle system is great and it's not as linear as FFXIII. Story and characters are passable if you can stand a lot of anime/japanese cliches. Star Ocean english dub sucks big time but luckily International has dual audio. I have only just started Nier but heard that it's also very underrated and at least here it was dirt cheap (13€).

Only PS3

I forgot about Star Ocean 4 International has anyone played that?

Or even some Tales games?

i liked Eternal Sonata if you can bare with its slower pace. don't get me wrong, the battle is not slow but the cut scences are really... :/

demon souls is not really like oblivion nor a WRPG. I don't like WRPG, but I love demon souls.

The..Last...Story

@Hatmoza, I've played the Demo and enjoyed it actually...but JRPG!

@Nintari, there's a reason this is in the Sony Forum, begone!

Quick question, does Demon's Souls have a good story?

if you have an Ipod touch or iPhone: Chaos Rings.

Best JRPG this generation.

lol.Sorry. I just saw it on the main page and didn't even pay attention. Although, as far as JRPGs go, The Last Story is shaping up to be the best of the bunch, by a large margin. So maybe it's worth mentioning anyway.
