A DS Game Cafe Would Be Interesting…

A cafe where patrons sip lattes and play with their Nintendo DS? That could be a neat hangout. Maybe Nintendo is thinking of one since they filed a trademarks for DS Gamecafe in Japan.

Monster Hunter fans and other ad-hoc PSP gamers already have a hangout in Asia, it’s called McDonalds. Nintendo DS owners stop by there too, usually to collect Pokémon presents from Mac de DS spots.

Nintendo could benefit from a DS-only game cafe, though, especially if it was for Nintendo 3DS. That way people could see the glasses-free 3D effects for themselves. Also, a cafe would make the Crosspass features much more useful since people could gather in one place to trade data.

You gotta' start small for things like this.

Imagine this becomes a thing, and we finally have DS cafes in the world that rival firms like Starbucks. (Not going to happen, but would be funny if it did)

You know what'll be awesome?

Allows rental of the console and let ppl bring just the game cards and play whatever they want, since the saved games are on the cards.

And playmate rental, too. I'll take 2, 1 on each side watching me play with my Wii 3DS.
