Altrough performance of PS3 in America is sad I'll find some hapinness in HD twins selling more than 50% of what Wii did.

Also those numbers might burry any hope we had of next gen starting in 2012.

When solo system number are disappointing, find refuge in the combined might of the HD Twins!

Lest you forget, there is always the Playstation family. Although that doesn't work so well anymore because the PSP and PS2 have dropped like a rock. MH week aside that is.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

Why are the numbers SO far off for the PS3 Americas vs NPD?

VGChartz Numbers - November:

Console Wii PS3 X360
America
1,342,483
732,134
1,457,921

X360  1,457,921
Wii 1,342,483
PS3  732,134

NPD Numbers - November:

Xbox 360: 1.37 Million ( 68%)
Wii: 1.27 Million ( 0.8%)
PS3: 530k (-25%)

The PS3 looks VERY overtracked.  And seeing the "adjustments" I bet it is being overtracked quite significantly in EMEAA as well.

The competition in Latin America is extremely one-sided in PS3 and PS2's favor with the exception of Mexico. And while it doesn't dominate, PS3 does quite well in Canada relative to its USA performance. It had sold about 300k up there for the year as of September and was #1 in February.I'm actually quite interested to know how GT5 performed up in Canada.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

1. You're comparing VGC sales (USA, Canada, Mexico, South America) to NPD numbers (USA)
2. The higher the numbers, the easier to make mistakes, especially when Wal-Mart doesn't tell their sales to anyone on Black Friday-Month.

I know about the region comparison issue and there would be some drift for that.

but the percentages jsut don't add up, even taking that into account.

On the 360, VGC is 6% higher than NPD.
On the WII, VGC is 5.4% higher than NPD.
On the PS3, VGC is 27.6% higher than NPD.

It is so far off the mark, makes the PS3 numbers very suspect.

Dance Central and Kinect Sports were #11 and #12
