Forums - Gaming - Capcom - Asura's Wrath will "redefine the action genre"

Asura’s Wrath is a brand new title scheduled for release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 system which will be published by Capcom and developed by Japanese developer, CyberConnect2.

The title is said to be inspired by ‘Asian mythology’ and fused with science fiction, and Capcom say it will “redefine the action genre by delivering unprecedented levels of dynamism, drama and interaction.”

From the press release:

Once a revered deity, Asura was betrayed by his fellow gods and stripped of all his powers. Consumed by anger at the injustice he has suffered and swearing vengeance, Asura discovers he can use this fury to his advantage and turn it against his enemies.

By channelling his inner rage, Asura is now able to unleash devastating attacks and wreak havoc as he battles against the deities who have wronged him and their earthly forces. Inspired by episodic dramas, ASURA’S WRATH will be split into distinct sections with gameplay and narrative unfolding as one and building to a final climatic conclusion.

I need this now.

To much like God of War me, and it seems like Bayonetta's already revolutionalised action, so this will have to be pretty good to measure up to that statement Capcom!

I'd usually call bullshit, but this is Cyberconnect. After playing Ultimate Ninja Storm, I really think they could make a beautiful balls to the wall action game. Beautiful balls.

Bet with Conegamer and AussieGecko that the PS3 will have more exclusives in 2011 than the Wii or 360... or something.

And will flop as well.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Couldn't agree more. I really hope Cyber delivers with this one.

I have a feeling this might challenge Dark Horizon records in speed of reaching bargain bin.

Want.  In CC2 we trust. <3

This thing is (sadly) going to mega-bomb though....

it has Space Buddha, that is all that is needed. Also it's kinda telling that they bill THIS as redefining the action genre as opposed to Ninja Theory's butchering of DMC.

yay my kind of God of War
