I'm one of the people who are absolutely pleased with the Virtual Console, especially the import section.  I never had the chance to play the likes of SMRPG (900 points) or Ogre Battle 64 (1200 points) before and they are much much cheaper than getting the game physically.  And don't get me started on those who think the VC is 'vastly overpriced'.

I'd have to agree with most of this here. However, there are some fairly awesome WiiWare games, and also some fairly awesome online games, and VERY MANY awesome VC games! It just seems as though developers are lazy and refuse to see the Wii as an actual console so give it some horrid half-baked shovelware...and that's putting it kindly

The lack of N64 games in VC has been my biggest disappointment this gen. At the very least ninty could have gotten the rights to DK64(I undertstand the Rare feud). Perhaps DKCR sales will show people love DK! Perhaps my expectations were too high for VC, but still it is a disappointment. 

I wouldn't say it's a disappointment, but N64 games should be on. Nintendo should have made more internal storagem as has been said, in order to allow larger VC games, larger Wiiware games etc., and maybe then the online issue wouldn't be as bad...

I'm glad someone else agrees with me and my reasoning! 

Especially now that Cave Story was released in the UK this week!

Thank You for having common sense. The same could be said about the PSP. Yet Japan keeps making games, and selling systems. The media attempts at creating a backlash is laughable. The PS3 is the laughing stock of the industry, but the media keeps saying their butts. Avoiding to take the on! If Nintendo would have sold 500,000 during Black Friday. Either site in the world would be talking about the Wii. Sony does it, and not one article anywhere.

Nothing. Is selling better than the other consoles without any redesign, more than one price cut or a new motion control.

Is tracking to sells 100M, maybe this is the only console that matchs those numbers.

im gonna play devil's advocate and say that VC games are overpriced. Granted there are some games that you would have to pay obscene prices for cartridges but $8 dollars for a SNES game??? how can anyone with common sense justify that price??? Ninty does it cause they know people will buy it. PS1 games are $6 bucks! 9 for NEOGEO, are they high??? the compilations run you about 15 bucks. Only the N64 games are reasonably priced and surprise, their are hardly any. They wonder why people just emulate, and god help you if your Wii messed up

Me too.

I download Super Metroid, one of the best games I ever played. Also, Super Mario Bros 3, perfect platformer. Majora's Mask, best side-quest and darker Zelda.

You lost the argument there. Emulation was the cause of the VC, not the result of supposed overpricing (you're making $8 as though it was gouging, when something like $20 or more would be that).



A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

@lordtheknight  never said it wasnt the cause and eight bucks aint that much, but it should be cheaper, these are freaking SNES/Gen games it cant have cost them anything to throw them on the service. If people are happy with VC then good for them, ill just stick to my emulators of dubious quality until Ninty gives a more fair price (probably not gonna happen) or throws some more N64 games on there (probably wont happen either)
