Forums - PC - I want to get into 3d gaming what do i need?

I recently purchased a acer hd5360 3d projector and now that i have it set up I would like to get into 3d gaming, but I am not sure what need. I believe I need nvidias 3D vision pack, and an nvidia video card. But I am not sure what to get. Here are my current specs:

Ati Radeon HD4800 series

AMD athlon II x4

4 gigs of ram

The projector has a max resolution of 720p so that is what I will be gaming at.

If you guys need anymore info just let me know. And thanks in advance for the help

You just need the glasses/emitter and a Nvidia card now.

I'm not upto speed on the latest graphics card to get. GT450 or 460 look good enough and reasonable in price.

There is also a 3D HDTV capture card called the AverTV H727 that allows you to watch and record any 3D television broadcasts you may have access to.

Don't Play Stationary 4 ever. Switch!

Buying a 3DS is simpler and cheaper.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Simpler, maybe. Cheaper, lets see what the 3DS retails at first.

If you already have the projector, you could probably get a graphics card and glasses for less than a 3DS.

You could start with PS1 and N64, as they were pioneers in 3d gaming. Before that, most games were 2D.

Your projector is compatible, you need a 3d vision kit, not sure about the 3d card, though to be honest lower end compatible geforce cards are very cheap nowadays so it's not a huge issue. It might even be compatible with non-geforce cards possibly?
