The new Lara looks too much like that chick from Prince of Persia (I think her name was Elika). She also reminds me of Hilary Swank, or a young girly looking boy. Not hot at all.

So she reminds you of Dante from the new Devil May Cry, huh?

Yes, except no "I use heroin and like to cut myself because my boyfriend got selected for American Idol and I didn't" vibe.

(I think Dante pulls it off admirable though. The old one annoyed me. He looked too anime.)

Glad I wasn't the only one who saw the resemblance.

All Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raiders Have been good-awesome imo! with flaws particularly combat (Not count LCatGoL that was superb!) (though combat is not that important to tomb raider and prince of persia had the same problem with this as well)... hopefully this won't be different.

Crystal Dynamics is one of the best developers around, they made one of the best franchises ever.

Legacy Of Kain.

if anyone hates on them they probably dislike good games.

not to mention Tomb Raider , Gex, Akuji and Pendumonion.they never made a "bad" game

Silicon Knights are actually the guys who made the original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain.

"Franchises"

Well, the woman who was in charge of Soul Reaver is at Naughty Dog now.... which I consider the best Kain.

Anyways, this looks like a "woo look at Fallout 3 and UC2, lets merge them!" which can either be really good or turn into shit, we'll see.

I'll read the article when the mag comes in the mail.  I don't think Tomb Raider's origin is too fantastical, anyway.  The way I understand it, Lara was the sole survivor of a crash (I think it was a boat in the originals and a plane in the ones since Legend but it's been a while--I may be wrong) and she learned to survive.  Nothing too wild about that.  Of course, since then, she's been to Atlantis, Avalon, fought Yetis, and wielded Excalibur.

Then again, that other explorer has seen some pretty otherworldly stuff, too.............

Laughed my fucking ass off!!  Thanks for that!

Brutal deaths, a free aim system, a less sexy look, and an emotionally charged story about Lara Croft's origins is exactly what this series needed.  I prefered when she had a sex change and changed her name to Nathan Drake.  That was a much better reboot.

.......I can't believe she's not going to look like Lara any more.  If that is they way from now on, screw them.

I, also, tip my hat to you, sir.

In other news: I like what I see. Let's hope the game is as good as I imagine it could be.

A reboot in an open world with more freedom, that's great news. I'm quite interested in this game.

Underworld was pretty decent.
