Because I haven't seen one of these in ages, it's time for a good ol fashion voting competition. Each of the potential best things of all time starts with 5 points, and it is up to us to eliminate them until only 1 remains.
Rules
1) Include at the very top of your post "Previous poster = x" where x is the person before you. If by the time you get your post done, someone else has gotten in before you, delete your post completely and make a new one. Do not just edit it. Furthermore, ensure that the post you are following voted legitimately, and is not about to be deleted for that reason.
2) Each vote consists of adding 1 to a thing and removing 1 from two things. You cannot remove 2 from 1 thing, because that allows a vocal minority to zerg an otherwise popular answer. To vote a thing up, increase its number by one, and put a * next to it [edit] remembered the plus sign dont work, use *[/edit]. Remove the plusses and minusses of the person who you copied the list from.
3) Keep it organised - all things with the same amount of points should be together, and those with different points should have a gap in between. Highest points up the top. Once you lower a thing to 0, add it to the eliminated section. Once there, no-one may add or subtract points from it, it is out.
4) If you wish to vote multiple times, you may. There must be 1 hour between votes.
