Not that I intentionally hang around with smelly individuals, but humans sure do stink and I think online gaming for releasing me from having to deal with this.

Not too far from what I have heard in futuristic 2020 scenarios while I was in graduate school.
One scenario posited is those who have highly developed interpersonal communication skills will be tomorrow's leaders. Basically, with communication becoming more impersonal via text message and email along with being able buy all your necessities and luxury goods online, future generations will be nurtured in an environment where there is scant person-to-person contact outside the home.
School will be entirely online. Routine doctor visits will be conducted via email because the diagnosing of illness via WebMD will be so advanced come 2020, face-to-face health care would only be needed for the infirm, for major illness and for surgery.
This is a possible scenario stressing how as communication has evolved from face-to-face, to mail courier, to telegraph, to telephone, to email, and to text message right now, and who knows in the future, future generations will be nurtured in a socially deprived environment leaving those who have highly developed interpersonal skills to lead society into the future.
I doubt it right now, but if you look at cyberbullying and teens committing suicide over Facebook posts, then you know something is seriously lacking in the current generation of teenagers. I would say it is knowing how to deal with another person to their face without your shield of a cellphone or laptop you can turn off at any given time. Take away that shield and they are powerless even though they have two fists who could do the talking for them.
They just don't know how to use them because with a cell phone or laptop they can cower behind their shield. If they actually took the time to deal with bullies face-to-face, then they would realize another option is fist-to-face. This being said, physical violence is rarely encouraged, but it is entirely justifiable in a situation where another teen takes the bullying online and into the bullied's private space via Facebook or another social app.
