I think the map is slightly overloaded with locations.

really is that all the locations thats an massive let down

i was waiting togo explore the other side of the river and stuff.

But following the missions with an few side quests it would take 10 hours to reach new vegas

Its an fun game i have been playing it but i am really fussy and this is my 4 attempt. For some reason i screwed up my last few attempts with factors i didn't want and that was 30 hours wasted. Now around 20 hours into the 4 all things well.

but i find some times it can get redundant. I was sent to Vault 22 (the plant one) 4 times already. and last one i couldn't do because i already downloaded the information and given it to the NCR. and now veronica wants me to go to vault 11 which is loaded with gouls which i got half way through before giving up and heading back since i died like an million times.

and one last thing. NEW VEGAS SUCKS!!!!. not the game the city. Its far to small. the strip needed to have at least 5 more casinos, shops, and bars and clubs.

what's the comparison between fallout 3 and new vegas in terms of map size and # of locations and stuff? What exactly dyou guys dislike about new vegas compared to the wasteland?

new vegas is an waste land

Vegas it self including Freetown and the strip is only an very small faction of the map.

I think new vegas is a lot better and more interesting than fallout 3. imo.
I don't think fallout NV is too big. however games can be too big for it's own good in certain circumstances.

I think how big it does has to do with bugs. It's logic.

But I also think the fact that it's obsidian (king of bugs) making a game based on a bethesda(they love bugs too) game is more of the reason for it being bug city XD. Granted, now after the initial patches it's been fine. Less buggy than fallout 3 was when I played it pretty much.
I play pc though.

This new Fallout is smaller than Fallout 3.

Open world WRPGs are about the journey not the destination so they should be big.

"Bethesda claims that the scale of the game is equal to twice the size of Great Britain:[1] around 487,000 square kilometers. The game world features over 15,000 towns, cities, villages, and dungeons for the player's character to explore."

Daggerfall.. Never played it but i heard it's just massive.

and that is why procedurally generated worlds are great, I wish more devs would use it these days.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

Just Cause 2 has more content than sense, yet there doesn't seem to be any bugs.
