Well the Wii has a remote and Wii fit and some now Karaoke games - Sony has sixaxis games (ok not as great, but still make it fun), Eye toy,EOJ Card game, Singstar, buzz, home, lbp, Blue Ray, new school dlc like Flow, online gameplay (even with the psn games) Folding etc. So in essence Sony has a broad base of entertainment which people have the choice to play with. Where as the Wii has the same old mini game, repetitive and dust gathering choices for people, that will get old after some time. This is my viewpoint only!!! |
@finalsquall,
i think its funny how the only way what you said makes any sense is simply because the only thing you said for the wii is that it has a remote, wii fit, and some karaoke games. you failed to mention that the wii also has a great lineup of games(including wii sports which might be the most purely fun game out so far this gen), online gameplay, tons of great VC games, next year will get new downloadable games, etc. And also you listed some ps3 things that aren't even out yet. i just thought your post was pretty funny in the way you proved your point simply by ignoring everything the wii offers.
and to the motorstorm vs. excite truck debate. i played excite truck in a gamestop a few days before the wii came out and thought it was at best mediocre. that game proved that moving the controller to steer in racing games is not nearly as fun as using a normal analog stick (which is the one reason why i fear for mario kart). that said, i've played motorstorm several times in gamestops and i would say it is slightly better but not by much. i wouldn't really be too excited to compare the systems based off of mediocre games like those. those games are definitely nothing compared to the good racing games that have come out on past systems.
end of '08 predictions: wii - 43 million, 360 - 25 million, ps3 - 20 million

yeah bdbdbd seriously when that kid said he is much more of an old school gamer i thought he was gonna say he likes the wii a lot more. silly young kids who started playing games last gen and don't know what old school means. i especially like when he mentions COD4 as though a first person shooter is old school. very funny. |
I see how me playing on the NES and SNES as my first consoles is me starting last gen. Well done making assumptions "old man". How is 17 a kid? Honestly.
Old school was the wrong term to use admittedly, but I think the point I was making was pretty clear without being pulled up over a technicality. Its called semantics, old school in terms of the console generation would look back at the NES/SNES standard controller interface, which isnt what the Wii provides.
Plus, FPS has been an established genre for nearly 20 years..not exactly a recent innovation in gaming is it?

To each their own, I don't consider reader's average because too many fanboys screw and skew the rating, but if you like using that then that's cool too. I like looking at reviews from metacritics and gamerankings, sometimes IGN and Gamespot. |
and didn't the kane lynch debacle prove that professional reviews are absolutely worthless? face it they will always be influenced by advertisers as that is how they make their money
and frankly the number of votes in reader reviews generally should give them plenty of creedence, just because it doesn't favor the games you want more to be better doesn't make them off.

Leo-j - As an owner of a 60 GB PS3 I am pissed off that I actually rushed out to buy one.. yes I mean it, yes I gave it it's fair shake and yes I highly prefer the Wii... believe me I'd love to like it and more than one game on it(Ratchet & Clank is pretty good) but I just can't even force myself to enjoy it beyond that.(Disclaimer, I truely hope that this fact changes in the near future.)
Looks like this story is being picked up now. You guys got it here first :)

Yep motorstrom is the better game.

So is Uncharted infinitely more fun than Mario Galaxy?

Better graphics: Motorstorm Length: Both losers if you ask me Controller: Can argue analog over motion all you want I bought it figuring to use motion on both and Excite truck did a slightly better job of not feeling so loose.. -slightly-
I've enjoyed one game on the Wii so far - SMG. I enjoy Wii Sports drunk with my friends. Everything else IMO, feels like a PS2 but moving the controller instead of pushing a button. I have yet to try Trauma Center yet, but heard its good.
Oh well. I guess its one of those things that is really popular that I can't get myself to like - like Rap music or Halo for that matter.
"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY." --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials
