Since you already have both consoles, you're excluded. But a PS3 for 299 vs PS2 with no new games, there is no excuss not to get a PS3. They want free games too?

If you own a ps2, why would you need a ps2bc ps3?

I dont have my GC out anymore because i can play those games on the Wii

This is one thing I never understood about people who demanded ps2bc back, if you already own a ps2, why do you really need on in your ps3? Why not go the whole hog and have your 360 in your ps3 as well?

Well it is nice not having to use any memory cards, or having to worry about hooking up another console to your tv. Plus the PS3 w/BC can slightly upscale PS2 games (I believe).The DS3 controllers are also wireless.

If my (slim) PS3 had BC, then I wouldn't really bother playing my PS2 games on my PS2 and I would use the PS3 instead for convenience. I play my PS1 games on my PS3 instead of my PS2 (just so I don't have to worry about moving stuff around on memory cards, wireless controllers are nice, etc.)

okay, slight over-egging but I think my point still stands. People need to move on and quit moaning, if you want a ps3, buy a ps3, if you want a ps2, buy a ps2, don't have your cake and eat it, that's just being greedy.

My PS3 has BC.  That's why I love it.  I don't need to keep two consoles under the TV (sold my PS2 immediately, as a matter of fact) and the PS3 displays PS2 games much sharper than the PS2 ever could.  Two pretty good reasons in my opinion.  Just like I sold my Gamecube because the Wii had BC and I could experience Xbox games because my 360 has BC.  Two libraries in one console (with upscaled graphics).  It's a bigger deal than you think.

I dont want to have every console i've ever had plugged in to my TV. I mean i thought we were supposed to go forwards not backwards, what with the iphone and all the other new gizmos. that have phone/video game/computer/coffe maker/

Besides the technology is there, (or was there) as you can see from the very early PS3 consoles.

i would't say i'm asking for too much.
