There may not really be any new PS2 games coming out, but the back catalog for the system is one of the best game libraries ever! I still play my PS2 games (more than I do PS3 games actually).

Well it is nice not having to use any memory cards, or having to worry about hooking up another console to your tv. Plus the PS3 w/BC can slightly upscale PS2 games (I believe).The DS3 controllers are also wireless.

If my (slim) PS3 had BC, then I wouldn't really bother playing my PS2 games on my PS2 and I would use the PS3 instead for convenience. I play my PS1 games on my PS3 instead of my PS2 (just so I don't have to worry about moving stuff around on memory cards, wireless controllers are nice, etc.)

Since you already have both consoles, you're excluded. But a PS3 for 299 vs PS2 with no new games, there is no excuss not to get a PS3. They want free games too?
