Forums - Microsoft - one feature that i would love to be on Forza 4!

Logitech G27 support! , i'm loving this thing, and its far more immersive than the G25 one, and also has a lot of buttons and a push down shift (for reverse) , also has a CLUTCH!! , yes its very fun to play with a clutch.

why don't Microsoft allow third party wheels on xbox? i hope they implement this, because to be honest their wheel is very crappy...

You know it really doesn't make sense considering MS lets other company's make controllers and such....they can be quite random at times.

Probably because they have their own wheel.  That market is small enough that maybe they didn't want a competitor.

For the record, I bought a wheel and hardly ever used it.  Tried playing Forza Motorsport II a number of times with it on my lap and it was a disaster.

The G27 is pretty sweet though.

They do allow 3rd party as they have the Fanatec wheels which work on 360, PS3 and PC

Also it has nothing to do with MS not supporting Logitech but the other way around. Its really a complicated situation so if you want to get a grasp on it I recommend reading this post and the subsequent posts after it.

That's kinda what happens when you keep things to yourself I guess.

I'm guessing they thought that by now sims would be using XID but that hasn't happened for whatever reason. I have a feeling Logitechs next wheels will be XID and HID compatible though.

Most likely, and hopefully the next xbox would just have both supported too lol.

well they can actually release a patch to support it, you see GT5 doesn't support G27 as it doesn't list it among the other wheels , since it also has its own wheel, but you can use it fully on the game.
