The movies? Yes. Since the 4th, which is the last one I saw as a kid, they SUCK. The books kick ass, though.

The books... they make for an entertaining read. Nothing on His Dark Materials or Lord of the Rings, but pretty good stuff. Not a single Harry Potter movie has been anywhere near the quality of the novel, though.

Of course, Star Wars >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> HP books.

I cant believe this Harry potter is actually beating Star Wars .... WTF Really and seroiusly people idk how u think any of the Prequals were bad i mean i understand that everyone hates Jar-Jar but in the first episode they made up for it with Qui-Gon Jinn i mean this guy was awesome and any true star wars fans would love the prequals. Well i gues everyone is entitled to there own opinion but i am a true starwars fan and if it werent for the first three episodes (prequals) we probly wouldnt have gotten the awesomeness of KOTOR F-Yeah-Sea-King !!!!!!

Sure, it's possible to prefer Potter to LotR.

However, it is not possible for a rational human being to actually think Potter is BETTER than LotR. By any standard of art, writing, performance, direction (talking about both the novels and films), Tolkien/Jackson's work is just flat-out superior in every regard.

lol The LotR books are sooo boring. And I am rational.

Whether you think they're boring or not, they're brilliant pieces of literature that completely redefined the way we think of fantasy settings, epic stories, and British literature.

The books weren't all that well received when they came out.

Then it proceeded to become the second-best selling book of the 20th century in the western world behind... The Bible.

You're going to have to do better than that.

Doing better than what? Just make some research. The books received mixed reviews and that's a fact.

And I don't see what's the point of talking about sales.

Star Wars is losing O.o

I don't know why people hate prequels that much, they weren't bad. They were just not as good as the first three.

Ok Qui-Gon really the first if not the Only Jedi to question the Order of the Jedi, which made u be like but the Jedi are Good and that u see in the 2nd and 3rd episodes they arent all that pure. And Any how He Trained the Only Jedi to take down Darth Vader and in my opinion the Best Jedi Ever Oni-Wan Kanobi ( he is the only one to ever defeat Darth Luke only won cuz Darth Gave up ). And one last thing Qui-Gon Figured out a way for the jedi to use the Force to be able to contact anyone that needs help after they passed on (Died) ... Now seriously that is why Qui-Gon is awesome
