Well I'm surprised with GT5 numbers. With all the talk recently of breaking sales records on the continent, 1.5 million pre-orders, and 1.8 million WW sales in 2 days there was every reason to expect a 2 million week and substantially more than 1.2 million in EMEAA.

I think lower than anticipated review scores, esp the flaws reviewers identified kept a lot of people's wallets closed. We'll see if word of mouth does anything to overcome the mark down from reviewers. I don't see advertising doing much to oversome the reviews.

Good HW for PS3 nonetheless, and for everything else for that matter.

Other than that seems like things went more or less according to the expected pattern.

The PS2 has a price advantage AND it actually launched into a Holiday season too iirc.

Still. PS3 wont reach PS2 numbers simply because it's not going to be selling as well as the PS2 is 6 years down the line

Yep I agree. They should port it to the 360, it'd probably do an extra 500k- 1mil. More people need to play this game! Spin-off isn't, as PSP, 3DS and Xbox360 will have it.... But Kojima won't be in the team.

Because real MGS must be made by Kojima and can be only in PS3, he needs 100Gb to make the next one. 2 Blurays or 12 DVDS dual layer (don't see it happening)

It seems that GT5 has had a way better first week than GT4.
