As the title suggest what do you think will be nintendos next 2d full retail game? Will it be another Mario? Will they revamp Ice Climbers and make it into a full platformer? Perhaps another Wario? Maybe a Wii Starfy game? Hey maybe Yoshi? Whats your thoughts or what would you like to see?

Legend of Zelda... make it happen Nintendo

New Super Mario Bros DS = 23 million

New Super Mario Bros Wii = 17 million

If they don't make a 2d mario in the next few years, I will join the masses in saying "nintendo is doomed".

Well they have done Kirby , Donkey Kong and Mario who's left? Also Other M had 2D play as well so you can sorta through that in their too. I think Ice Climbers is more then possible considering Nintendo is keeping them alive by featuring them in SmashBros.

In all honesty I think New Super Mario Bros 3 on 3DS is most likely to happen but will it be the next one? I dunno. I think with Nintendo bringing back Kid Icarus that Ice Climbers will probubly be next, or perhaps a Kid Icarus next generation 2D platformer.

Yoshi's Island 'Revolution' or something like that.

Have a cel shaded art style similar to the original SNES game.  A 2nd player could be whatever baby Yoshi is carrying and can collect items in the style of Super Mario Galaxy.  Or they could just do a fully blown 2 player mode.

A 2D Mario game for 3DS.

I think what they should do is make another 2D Mario, but this time use new ideas, and have (nearly) all new worlds, rather than using the same old grass world, desert world, lava world, etc.

Metroid

On Wii, there's probably a chance for a Yoshi's Island game (maybe from Good Feel or Artoon), and I'd say DKCR2 is a sure bet.  Nintendo's struck gold with Wii 2D platformers, but I don't really see them going back to 2D for other genres on the system (besides stuff that already is there, like Smash Bros). Wii won't get another NSMB though.

3DS will get a lot of stuff though.  And there's going to be more 2D games in the future obviously (Kirby, Fire Emblem, etc).

Metroid dread for 3DS? Mr Sakamoto said that game may come.
