According to Jeremiah Slaczka (5th Cell) developers of Scribblenauts and recently Super Scribblenauts, the new Nintendo handheld is cooler than the Sony and Microsoft motion controls.

Slaczka was asked if Kinect or Move provide him with any inspiration.

"Yeah… a little. I don’t know. The 3DS is cooler in our opinion.”

“Move is okay. It’s Wii plus. It’s good for what it is. Ultimately it’s all about the system. If the idea makes sense, then we can do it and we will. But it’s all about the idea.”

And it seems that they are in the R&D phase of making a new game.

“[5th Cell is] in the R&D phase [to make a 3DS game]. We have people playing around with it. The 3D camera is probably the most interesting thing that’s the least talked about.”

Of course it is far far cooler.  I'm pretty sure almost everyone will admit this when the sales explode.  Heck, DS is cooler than any of the other current generation consoles.

I have the feeling that won't sell like the DS :/

3DS is going to be HUGE it just feels like the time for the next thing.

The 3DS will probably smash records next holiday season.  Handhelds have the advantage that it's easier for people to get "hands on" or at least "eyes on" time with them.  You can see them just about anywhere.  If it's as good as advertized, anyone that sees one (and likes video games) will probably want one.

Of course it is, a new system (not lookswise at all, but you know lol) versus peripherals?  That's not even fair lol.

I have to agree, I hated all my Gameboys but the DS really changed the idea of what a handheld was.....it was my most played system until I started to invest more time in my PS3
