Earlier this month we announced that Kinect hit the million mark in 10-days. We got some new numbers to share: With the help of Black Friday last week, Kinect has now sold over 2.5 Million units around the world.

2.5 million shipped means kinect probably sold 600k this black friday week mabye a little more

Since he used 1 million in 10 days in the announcement, the 2.5 million in 25 days almost certainly has to be sold to consumers and not sold to retailers.

hmm idk. microsoft doesnt know how many people own it...they know how many they sold to retailers so idk

In before that guy (the brazilian with an e name), comes in spouting "Shipped!!"

The last press release specifically said 1 million sold through to consumers.  By now their retail partners will have told them how many they have sold.  Of course with the massive sellouts everywhere, sold to retailers pretty much equals sold to consumers at this point.

Microsoft Corp. today announced that strong demand over the Black Friday weekend has propelled retail sales of Kinect for Xbox 360 to more than 2.5 million units worldwide since it launched just 25 days ago.

“We are thrilled about the consumer response to Kinect, and are working hard with our retail and manufacturing partners to expedite production and shipments of Kinect to restock shelves as fast as possible to keep up with demand,” said Don Mattrick, president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft. “With sales already exceeding two and a half million units in just 25 days, we are on pace to reach our forecast of 5 million units sold to consumers this holiday.”

He says their goal is 5 million "sold to consumers" and also mentions "retail sales", not "sold to retail", but you know these press releases..

yay they specifically detail that it's SOLD TO CONSUMERS. Just like their 1 million statement, in line with our figures.

We have Kinect at 1.5 mill, so 1 million units sold this week? (actually I imagine it's 600 - 800k whilst undertracked previous weeks.)

Target said Kinect was the top performer for them Black Friday weekend.
