Well it's that time of the year. X'mas trees and ornaments are everywhere, the good ol’ Santa Claus is ready to visit your town and the 2010 is dying slowly. So with a few releases left (Super Mario Collection and WoW Cataclysm are the last strong releases left this year I guess) it’s time to share our thoughts about what games were the best this year, remember this’s a thread to share not to criticise or complain about it, so my top games this 2010 are:
Best Handheld Game: Valkyria Chronicles II (PSP)
Even if it isn’t at the same level of the original game Valkyria Chronicles II still is an awesome game. With a huge amount of content to unlock like characters, clases, levels, weapons and personal information about the characters the game easily overcome the weak story and main characters design. One of the best Games this year and the best PSP game in my opinion.
Runners up: Dragon Quest IX (DS), Professor Layton and the Unwound Future (DS) and Rune Factory 3 (DS), Persona 3 Portable (PSP)
Best Console Game: Super Mario Galaxy 2 (Wii)
Honestly there isn’t much to say about this game. Nintendo has perfected the formula and an awesome game turned into a masterpiece, a title that probably will be used as a textbook (or game) for everyone that wants to be in the videogame industry.
Runners up: Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii), Red Dead Redemption (PS3-Xbox360), 3D Dot Heroes (PS3), Bayonetta (PS3-Xbox360)
Best Special Edition: Bioshock 2 (PS3-Xbox360-PC)
Even if the p´resentation is quite simple the quality of the content is great. The artbook is truly and artbook and not a cheap panflet, the vyvnil record was a nice touch and the overall presentation is nice and really well done.
Runners up: Ys Seven (PSP), God of War 3 (PS3), Fallout New Vegas (PS3, Xbox360 an PC)
Best Free Game: Robot Unicorn Attack (PC)
The best things are free and nothing better than a colorful world, filled with dolphins, fairies and dead. Even this chart says that this game is way better than some big budget overhyped monsters.
