Ok... worst things i've seen so far.

-Trying to convince Slovenia to take a Guantanamo prisoner in exchange for a meeting with Obama.

Kind... of weird, really.

-North Korea sneaking Iran long ranged missles that could be used for Nuclear weapons.

Why wasn't this just reported?  To the UN?  Why does the US not want anyone to know Iran has long range nuclear missles, when Iran has the means to make Nuclear payloads?

if i wanted to take a college course involving all this, what should i look into? i just feel really illiterate about all this lol. It seems like a lot of people hate the US, but why?

The US government has been violating US laws for decades.  It has been abusing nations around for world for just as long.  Since the US government refuses to follow US or international law and these actions are totally non-violent, maybe they will be good if they help keep the US government in check since almost nothing else seems to work.  Maybe the entire world will be better off because of this.

. Of course since we citizens have basically zero power to control government anymore, the UN can.

Are you serious?

What can the UN do to the united states, if it can't even do anything to... anyone?

UN = USA best friend

Well, the UN was created by the US and it's allies at the time to help increase their power in the world and that has continued to work out well.  It's isn't the most effective or efficient organization, that's for sure, but it can do some things.  But yes, they often tend to favor the nations that created it and still have lots of power in it.

Nevertheless, the US government is out of control and these releases may help with that a little.

what makes you say that?

Its interesting to note that these "dipplomats" are probably some brutal murder and puppet string pullers themselves caring nothing for the lives of thousands, infrastructure or countries they need to affect.

What about the thousands of pepole their acts will save?

Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Oh and "US diplomats spying on UN Leadership."

Which is what Diplomats do.   Diplomats are spies.

I'm glad somebody pointed this out.

Nobody at the UN is going to be shocked or amazed that their fellow diplomats are trying to sneak as much information as they can out of each other. They may not say it, but they all know it.

In defence of diplomats, their jobs do entail a lot more than just spying, though.

True, true... but I mean, I forget where I learned it... I want to say Civilization 2 funny enough.

Diplomat's are basically what you call "White hat" spies.  They aren't going to do anything illegal but along with proposals and meetings and conveying info, their jobs are basically to keep their ears open, and try and overhear as much as they can.

Did you read the cable about the spying? It seems to me that they were asked to do many illegal things. Capturing passwords used by other diplomats, biometric data etc etc.

I'm not surprised that UN diplomats are being spied on, but I am wondering if there will be any impact on Clinton since she signed the order herself... Looks like something that would definitely affect her job performance now that everyone knows it.

:O

Wasn't it in old news? I definitely heard some buzz regarding Iran probing their long-range missiles, so I'm kinda suprised you're getting excited by this.

EDIT: A quick google fetches this for example -> http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,506813,00.html

I'm yet to see any big news from WL. So far pretty much everything I heard was not really suprising, being known beofre even if public awareness was low for some of those gossips or facts. This is another reason for me to believe this is very good game played by the gov, and not another crap failure.

So, did you look at that Fox News? Was it the same thing or the cable was revealing? Cuz I didn't read it TBH.

You think that stealing other people's emails, fingerprints, credit card numbers, dna, etc... is normal behaviour?!

Also, you can't justify spying unless you have proof the others are doing too. Should you try to kill someone just because you think other people are doing it too, without any proof?
