Yes they were both RIGHT after the sexual assualts.   3 days later and then 6 days later.

They issued an arrest warrant, then it got canceled and then it got reissued as new evidence came out.

As for it being a "setup by the government"

The people who are suspected to be the victims are radical feminists.   Not exactly the type to get in with the government.

It's pure and simple "Blame the victim"  defense mentality combined with conspiracy theories.

It makes me sick.

Hmmm, the guy is being accused of rape by 2 radical feminists? That in itself is suspicious.

How?  He met both of these women at his speeches.  Can't imagine too many moderates or conservatives show up.

It shows a consistant pattern of him getting women to agree to consesnual sex with a condom... and them him taking it off against their will mid way through.

What about that is particualarly hard to believe....

or even more importantly, what part of that is supposed to be so damaging that it's worth a setup?

They take him to jail, where he's killed by accident during a prison fight or something.

Plus, those women could be Government agents, or paid by the Government.

I mean, I dunno.

I think a conspiracy group could come up then a better crime then date rape without a condom.  As sad as it is, a lot of people don't even think it's rape if you "start" with a girl and then she tells you to stop because you don't have a condom.

If this was some government group they'd pick something hugely damaging like child molestation.

Or hacking child porn onto his computer, getting a warrant to check his computer for some copyright infringements based on some leaked documents with copyrights and then busting him for the illegally downloaded child porn.

A LOT of people sadly wouldn't even see it as that big a deal, I doubt he'd serve much if any time, and probably just have to pay a fine.

Maybe they're going with a less outrageous WTF approach, that could seem too much like a set up.

Also, considering the rape charges, women make up things like this all the time. My mom has a friend who seriously hurt hurself and went to the police to press charges against him. She did this in order to blackmail him into not leaving her, else she'd use this incident to get sole custody of their child (which is sad, considering that she tried to kill the kid, and her husband didn't report that to the police). Women can sure be crazy.

Considering those women describe themselves as radical feminists... I don't know, that seems suspicious for several reasons.

Ok.  I have to say this.

Fuck you.

"Women can be crazy" what kind of sexist remark is that.

No serously.  Using one mentally ill woman as a basis for juding all women when the large amount of rape cases go unreported and the ones that do are hard to find rapists guilty because of bullshit made up defenses like that.

Seriously you are saying because you know ONE crazy lady, that two women who have never met before somehow both made up a story to the police?

You don't know anyone who's liked to a woman or another man about a condom before?

Yes... because agents for the government are often known to be longstanding respected civil rights leaders.  I bet Malcolm X was really an agent for the government too!

Because ex girlfriends have never been abused and raped.  I mean, girlfriends can't be sexually abused right?  They chose to date the person?

Seriously.  Grow up.

It's just a pathetic attempt to try to discredit the guy. The timing is just way too convenient for the people who'd want this guy to go away.

Right, which is why he's avoiding questioning right... doing everything he can to not answer the charges?

If it really was a "pathetic attempt to discredit the guy" he'd go there and answer their questions.

He'd stand up to his accusers rather then hiding like a guilty man.

He's wanted in Sweeden.  Not Cuba.

Actually he did not resist questioning AFAIK. Read the following article from September:

http://www.thelocal.se/29102/20100919/

"Björn Hurtig said an investigation was still under way but the head of the whistleblowing website had been given no summons for questioning.

"I have been told that there is no arrest warrant against him," meaning Assange could do what he liked, including going abroad, Hurtig said."

This stinks to high heaven.

Yes, because new evidence never shows up in cases?

He's currently resisting questiong... at this moment.

You know... cause he's not in sweeden... right now.

When they want to question him.

These two women only decided they had been raped after they talked to each other. I'm just saying the case is really stinky.

No they didn't.

One woman decided she had been raped...

and the other who thought she had only been molested gave information to the court to support her.

Also, I don't think it was after they met?  I've read nothing like that.

All i've seen is that the second woman reported a rape, while the first gave details of their sexual encounter as testimony for the 2nd.

There isn't anything suspious about it other then the fact he's famous.

"It's suspious it happened after he released US documents" ignores something very vital.

That's exactly when you'd expect it too hapen.

Suddenly he's famous, and making speeches and has a lot more admirers... aka is going to be able to hook up a lot more... and suddenly being famous when he's not used to people kissing his ass, and suddenly being told no again, put back to down to the level he was...

I mean, when else is there a more likely time?  You see this happen with celebrities ALL THE TIME, and they either by buying their way out of it or get out of it by blaming the victims and inciting their supporters to harass the victims.

Blaming the victims is probably what got the first warrent dropped.

I remember reading several times that the women had private discussions before filing their complaints. I will try to find more articles to confirm this, but this is an interesting one that I just found:

http://www.crikey.com.au/2010/12/02/when-it-comes-to-assange-r-pe-case-the-swedes-are-making-it-up-as-they-go-along/

A few interesting claims here that are probably fairly easy to verify:

- the second woman "published on the internet a guide on how to get revenge on cheating boyfriends". (doesn't prove anything, but interesting for context I think)

- "she has thrown a party in Assange’s honour at her flat after the “crime” and tweeted to her followers that she is with the “the world’s coolest smartest people, it’s amazing!” (and then tried to delete these tweets)

- "But then neither Arden nor Wilén complained to the police but rather “sought advice”, a technique in Sweden enabling citizens to avoid just punishment for making false complaints. They sought advice together, having collaborated and irrevocably tainted each other’s evidence beforehand. Their SMS texts to each other show a plan to contact the Swedish newspaper Expressen beforehand in order to maximise the damage to Assange."
