Right, which is why he's avoiding questioning right... doing everything he can to not answer the charges?

If it really was a "pathetic attempt to discredit the guy" he'd go there and answer their questions.

He'd stand up to his accusers rather then hiding like a guilty man.

Actually he did not resist questioning AFAIK. Read the following article from September:
