Forums - Sony - Reviewers "trolled" by Yamauchi's damage test!

Anyone notice that GameTrailers have yet to give their review?

Same goes for TheSixthAxis (the have an "intro review", but have not given it a score, yet) and GameSpot.  Looks like some sites actually know how to do a proper review of a game packed with tons of content.

At the very least, IGN should have done research on the situation.  The damage situation was known well before the game came out, had they not been so retarded they would have understood that you don't get to see every aspect of the game right away.

Not being able to see it after superficial play is not the same as the game being sufficient to a lazy reviewer.  At the very least, a reviewer must note this.

posted this in IGN's GT5 review...was bored

That damage still only applies to the small portion of premium cars though, right?  So even after level 40 if you use a different car outside the premium ones there will still be crap damage system.

BS  Scottie.

Reviewers owe it to their readers to play whatever game they have inside and out, or at least experience as much of the game as possible covering all aspects. And as others already mentioned, review copies are in the hands of reviewers a week or so before release.

took a little trip around the net and it seems many websites(mostly IGN) are getting alot of heat from this, I personally think this was one of the greatest ploys in gaming history!(don't know if this has been done before) hopefully this will send a message to reviewers and make them think twice before throwing out an "incomplete/rushed" review

I love GT5!! Although I am getting my copy tmr, I am loving every single news about it. It really ridiculed the current internet reviewing system, putting it to real shame. The reviews really should not have been so rushed, reviewers could have opted to put a first impression, then a more detailed review. Like Gamespot said "PD did not rush GT5, so we do not rush our review". I think thats the fair thing to do to a game with such depth.

On the contrary, the games that give the games a perfect 10 are looking unconvincing as well. I doubt they would have reached level 40.

Can anyone confirm this?

I think its been said all along that the Premium cars have more advanced deformation due to the fact that they're purpose built from the bottom unlike the 800 or so standard cars which are basically HD rendered "ports" of the GT4 cars.

I remember when IGN put a notice up that their review of MGS4 would take a little while and they wanted to take the time to fully play through the game in and out... Times have changed...
