Actually I hit one car with my bicycle and it had more damage than me and my bike (bike was okay, I had a minor injury on my right arm), the right side of the car was completly ruined and our insurance had to pay 2000€ in repairs...

Bikes (especially mountain bikes) are more strudy than the body of a car , you can punch a car with your hand and it will be bent, but only the body cover.
Edit : when i said bikes i mean't Bicycles, not the ones with engines.
Cars nowsdays actually are built flimsy so that when you got into an accident, the car would absorb most of the impact so you'd more likely be alive.
Dang he was lucky. He seemed lost afterward, though.
