And while they are great games in their own right, the 3D effect just wasn't pronounced enough to be very noticeable or helpful to me in either game and the graphics fidelity hit just wasn't worth it in my opinion. When consoles can support full 1080p 3D 60 to 120fps with excellent graphics then it may be worth it. |
@nightsurge
E3? You played demos. Whats better to play a demo or the final product? You need a good PC for full 1080p 3D 60 to 120fps games or perhaps next gen console. the current gen consoles will only offer 720p 3d games but then how many 2d games can you play in 1080p? I probably have 3-4 full hd games on the PS3. You can only watch 3d films in 1080p on the console. It seems that you would appreciate 3d more in full hd but are more than happy with standard 720p games.
How is your astros headset doing? Ive damaged one speaker and cant have volume loud anymore. Do you have black ops on ps3?
Something I have realized with my new 3d set up, most 3d games look MUCH better close up, I play GT5 and Motorstorm Rift 3d from about 3' to 4' away from my 50" 3d plasma. I'm going to build a gaming wheel mount/ chair set up to use for these games. If you haven't been that close while playing a 3d game, you haven't experienced the full effect yet. It becomes much more immersive. Other games like StarDust HD 3D are better for me at the usual couch distance. Black Op's looks great in 3D also, i'm only playing it in 3d so far.
p.s. if you have a panasonic 3d tv, see my glasses/ hat mod, really makes a difference in comfort: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=120244&page=1#
i am gonna buy a 3d tv some day... does the size of the tv affect 3d? if not then i might buy a small 3dtv lool xD

Ok, I will trust the guy who played the final game at his home.

The size of the tv doesnt affect 3d but the bigger tv the more immersive experience. Go for at least 42". This is minimum for the blu ray to shine.

The game really didn't change since E3, though. And in case you were wondering, it was on a Sony Bravia 3D TV from about 3 feet away.
I tried it out on Eurogamer Expo. Very cool effect, especially with the in-car view. Personally I thought Killzone 3 and Motorstorm Apocalypse benfitted more from the 3D effect though.
