Forums - Sales - At least we know GT5 sold alot more than 500,000 day one

Kaz in an interview with Eurogamer

"Yesterday the online service was kind of in a critical state," Yamauchi said.

"The data centre was set up to handle 500,000 connections but the number of connections we received greatly exceeded that amount and there was a high chance of experiencing problems as a result."

only 500,000???mistakes after mistakes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They probably did not expect 500,000 people playing online

What I want from a game.

Gameplay > Story > Content > Graphics

Visual Style > Graphics

Smooth Camera, Intuitive Controls

Friction! When everything feels right!

We know it sold at least that. lol

Why ? Online play is free on PSN so it would be the logical thing to assume that the vast majority of buyers (and GT is a pretty hardcore game) would go online.

That is without Japan as well. Meaning a minimum of 800K sold first day (based off of 300K pre-orders in Japan).

I'm glad it got more connections, it deserves it, the game is so good.

More than 500k on day 1 not including Japan (It launched a day later there. And I believe Australia as well). And that's just people that have their PS3 connected. I didn't connect at all yesterday after hearing about all the trouble people were having online.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

I see this as an Very High Enthusiasm to taste the REAL DRIVING SIMULATOR Online Play...., (day one remember??, they save the completion of the game for later.., because most people want to FEEL the sensasion of realistic driving online play...)
