Forums - General - Movies that changed cinema

just wondering what movies people thought had changed cinema quite alot.

Examples would be Blair witch project which started the shaky cam theme of the 2000s with movies like cloverfield and paranormal activity. ]

Or another example could be a clockwork orange which changed what poeple expected from violence in films.

So what would you say changed movies?

End of 2012 prediction:

xbox 360 : 73-75 million  playstation 3 : 72-74 million  wii : 104-105 million

Most hyped for :

Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent

Around the Network

The Matrix. Though I'm not sure all the bullet-timing, camera rotating and acrobatic stuff was for the better of movies in general.

Hmm.  Think I'll duck this one.  I see recent movie trends and nothing really major noted yet.  Perhaps not the thread for me.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Seven Samurai and The Magnificent Seven. The age old hollywood tradition of stealing ideas and remaking versions of foreign films (that are never as good). There might be an earlier example, but i don't know that much about the history of cinema.

The answer is clear and simple:

STAR WARS
